GK Chesterton,the Apostle of Common Sense is on EWTN every Sunday night at 9:00 pm EST. Dale Alqhuist hosts and this man an expert on GK. He's the President of the American GK Society and publishes a magazine called Gilbert. Dedicated to GK of course.Last night Mr Alqhuist discussed GK's poem The Ballad of the White Horse. One of the points Alqhuist made was a home run.Our society (culture)is not interested in seeking truth but in seeking pleasure.You see the primary goal of education is to seek truth. Liberalism has so infected our culture,society and EDUCATION that we no longer have a generation seeking truth. As long as this is true no matter how much money you throw at our education system it will fail.Today we even heard a supporter of the President call a group of American citizens SOB's (and he used the whole word)and that they ought to be taken out. You have to wonder how he could say this in front of a large audience,televised and not be taken to task. Even if we have a conservative administration-and maybe more so-we will have a moral battle going on. They paint decent people as extreme because the swamp is the new norm. They will say we're intolerant,tyrannical,backwards. The Church,Alqhuist pointed out,brought civilization out of the dark ages when barbarians ruled and he said the Church would lead us out of the Dark Ages again. How big a battle this is because we have been silenced. If we speak out we're branded as intolerant. Yes,were intolerant.Who on earth has to tolerate evil?Liberalism has infected our culture and eaten away at it.Destroyed families. Corrupted youth.It is taking away from parents the right to teach their own children their own values.

as a youth by Frank, (Frank Marshall Davis) an
avowed Communist, people said it didn't matter.

When it was discovered that his
grandparents, were strong socialists who sent
Obama's mother to a socialist school where she was
introduced to Frank Marshall Davis. He was later
introduced to young Barrack Hussein Obama People
said it didn't matter.

When people found out that Barrack Hussein
Obama was enrolled as a Muslim child in school and
his father and stepfather were both Muslims,
people said it didn't matter.

When he wrote in another book he authored "I
will stand with them
(Muslims) should the political winds shift
in an ugly direction" people said it didn't

When he admittedly, in his book, said he
chose Marxist friends and professors in college--

raising telethon to raise money for his election

When he refused to disclose who donated
money to his election campaign, as other
candidates had done, people said it didn't matter.

like Louis Farrakhan and Mummar Kadaffi and Hugo

When it was pointed out that he was a total
newcomer and had absolutely no experience at
anything except community organizing, people said
it didn't matter.

When he chose friends and acquaintances such
as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who were
revolutionary radicals, people said it didn't
matter.

When his voting record in the Illinois
senate and in the U.S. Senate came into question,
people said it didn't matter.

When he refused to wear a flag, lapel pin,
and did so only after a public outcry, people said
it didn't matter.

When people started treating him as a
Messiah and children in schools were taught to
sing his praises, people said it didn't matter.

When he stood with his hands over his groin
area for the playing of the National Anthem and
Pledge of Allegiance, people said it didn't
matter.

When he surrounded himself in the White
house with advisors who were pro-gun control, pro-
abortion, pro-homosexual marriage and wanting to
curtail freedom of speech to silence the
opposition people said it didn't matter..

When he aired his views on abortion,
homosexuality and a host of other issues, people
said it didn't matter.

When he said he favors sex education in
Kindergarten, including homosexual indoctrination,
people said it didn't matter.

When his personal background was either
scrubbed or hidden and nothing could be found
about him, people said it didn't matter.

When he had an association in Chicago with
Tony Rezco--a man of questionable character and
who is now in prison and had helped Obama to a
sweet deal on the purchase of his home-- people
said it didn't matter.

When it became known that George Soros, a
multi-billionaire Marxist, spent a ton of money to
get him elected, people said it didn't matter.

When he started appointing White House Czars
that were radicals, revolutionaries, and even
avowed Marxist/Communist, people said it didn't
matter.

When he stood before the Nation and told us
that his intentions were to "fundamentally
transform this Nation" into something else, people
said it didn't matter.

When it became known that he had trained
ACORN workers in Chicago and served as an attorney
for ACORN, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed cabinet members and
several advisors who were tax cheats and
socialists, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed a Science Czar, John
Holdren, who believes in forced abortions, mass
sterilizations and seizing babies from teen
mothers, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Cass Sunstein as
Regulatory Czar who believes in "Explicit
Consent," harvesting human organs without family
consent, and allowing animals to be represented in
court, while banning all hunting, people said it
didn't matter.

When he appointed Kevin Jennings, a
homosexual, and organizer of a group called gay,
lesbian, straight, education network as Safe
School Czar and it became known that he had a
history of bad advice to teenagers, people said it
didn't matter.

When he appointed Mark Lloyd, as Diversity
Czar, who believes in curtailing free speech;
taking from one and giving to another to spread
the wealth; who supports Hugo Chavez, people said
it didn't matter.

When Valerie Jarrett was selected as Obama's
Senior White House Advisor and she is an avowed
Socialist, people said it didn't matter.

When Anita Dunn, White House Communications
Director said Mao Tse Tung was her favorite
philosopher-- and the person she turned to most
for inspiration, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Carol Browner as Global
Warming Czar, and her being a well known socialist
working on Cap and trade as the nations largest
tax, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Van Jones, an ex-con and
avowed Communist as Green Energy Czar, who since
had to resign when this was made known, people
said it didn't matter.

When Tom Daschle, Obama's pick for health
and human services secretary could not be
confirmed, because he was a tax cheat, people said
it didn't matter..

When as President of the United States , he
bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , people said it
didn't matter.

When he traveled around the world
criticizing America and never once talking of her
greatness, people said it didn't matter.

When his actions concerning the Middle-East
seemed to support the Palestinians over Israel ,
our long time ally, people said it didn't matter.

When he took American tax dollars to
resettle thousands of Palestinians from Gaza to
the United States , people said it didn't matter.

When he upset the Europeans by removing
plans for a missile defense system against the
Russians, people said it didn't matter.

When he played politics in Afghanistan by
not sending troops early-on when the Field
Commanders said they were necessary to win, people
said it didn't matter.

When he started spending us into a debt that
was so big we could not pay it off, people said it
didn't matter.

When he took a huge spending bill under the
guise of stimulus and used it to pay off
organizations, unions, and individuals that got
him elected, people said it didn't matter.

When he took over insurance companies, car
companies, banks, etc., people said it didn't
matter.

When he took away student loans from the
banks and put it through the government, people
said it didn't matter.

When he designed plans to take over the
health care system and put it under government
control, people said it didn't matter.

When he claimed he was a Christian during
the election and tapes were later made public that
showed Obama speaking to a Muslim group and
'stating' that he was raised a Muslim; was
educated as a Muslim; and that he is still a
Muslim-- people said it didn't matter.

When he set into motion a plan to take over
the control of all energy in the United States
through Cap and Trade, people said it didn't
matter.

When he finally completed his transformation
of America into a Socialist State , people finally
woke up--- but it was too late. Add these up one
by one and you get a phenomenal score that points
to the fact that Barrack Hussein Obama is
determined to turn America into a
Marxist-Socialist society.

All of the items in the preceding paragraphs
have been put into place. All can be documented
very easily. Before you disavow this do an
internet search. The last paragraph alone is not
yet cast in stone. You and I will write that
paragraph. Will it read as above or will it be a
more happy ending for most of America ?

If you are an Obama Supporter don't be angry
with me because I think Barrack Hussein Obama is a
socialist. Far too many facts support he is indeed
a Socialist. If you seek the truth you will be
richer for it. Don't just belittle the
opposition.. Search for the truth. Democrats,
Republicans, Independents, Constitutionalists,
Libertarians all need to pull together or watch
the demise of a free democratic society. Pray for
Americans to seek the truth and take action for it
will keep us FREE. Our biggest enemy is not China,
,Russia , North Korea , and Iran our biggest
enemy is a contingent of politicians in Washington
DC . The government will not help, so we need to do
it ourselves.

It's your decision.

Obama:DOMA Is Unconstitional Part I

While the Middle East is on fire and people are dying, while our unemployment rate is holding at 9% nationally(higher in many states)Obama announces that he is struggling with the gay 'marriage' issue and that his administration is not going to defend the DOMA in court. He claims it's 'unconstitutional.'

President Barack Obama has referred to DOMA as “abhorrent law” and the White House website states that the president wants to repeal the law .
Obama is in campaign mode.
Marriage is defined as a union between one man/one woman for life. So we're going to redefine marriage? How does this work?
.The Catechism of the Catholic Church states,
"2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes. "

The fact that all people everywhere in all times have accepted marriage between man and woman ought to tell us something.
The fact that some people are willing to accept a pretense of marriage between 2 people of the same gender and many do not ought to tell us something.
The union called marriage between man and woman has never been questioned.
You can have a good marriage,a bad marriage and people who prefer to stay single but we all recognize the marriages between one man/one woman.
So we now think that we can redefine this thousand yr institution?
We didn't need the DOMA or at least we shouldn't have needed a law protecting what we understood to be marriage.
Male and female are complementary.We see that in the persons they are because of gender. We see this biologically;man and woman are made for each other.Our bodies make sense in the sexual act.
We can create life.It is the ultimate purpose of the sexual union. It doesn't necessarily mean every sexual union between a man and women creates life. There are cases where some unions can never create life(health problems)but we can't say that the sexual union between man and woman NEVER creates life. Someone,somewhere is going to become pregnant and it is going to be a woman who has had relations with her spouse.This is the rule;there are exceptions.
Same sex attraction is a perversion.It is not complementary.Men and men are the same.Women and women are the same.Sexual acts between people of the same gender are never open to life and therefore amount to mutual masturbation. No matter how many people of the same sex engage in sexual acts no one anywhere at any time is going to become pregnant.It is the rule;there are no exceptions.
Even a non religious person can see that there's something to this.
People who are pushing same gender 'marriage' claim that people with same sex attraction are being discriminated against.Some even compare it to discrimination based on race.
Wrong;sexual acts are a choice. We're talking about a preference.Race is biological.
Skin color is based on degree of melanin. All of us have melanin.

Businessman Herman Cain has formed an exploratory committee and is considering a bid for President. For those who don't know, Cain is a successful businessman who has a history of turning businesses around, from his tenure at Pillsbury to his tenure as President and CEO of Godfather's Pizza. Cain also served as President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and President and the CEO of the National Restaurant Association. In this last role, Cain challenged Bill Clinton in the mid-nineties when he attempted to socialize medicine in a public forum.

In 2006, Cain was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in both his liver and his colon. With surgery and chemotherapy, Cain fought and defeated cancer. He has been cancer free since.

More recently, Cain was a radio host in Georgia on WSB until he recently decided to form a Presidential exploratory committee. I contacted his campaign recently to see if he'd be willing to answer some questions. What follows are Mr. Cain's answers to my questions:

My Husband Is On Way To ER

It's 3:18 a.m. and the blizzard is starting here. They rode up in this. My husband is in extreme pain and our phone is out. His friend took him up.Thank God he has a 4 wheel drive truck.I hope he stays there with husband.This is a weekly trip and has been for 3-4 months.He keeps telling them he's in pain and they do nothing. I know they've gotten strict because people do abuse drugs but when someone is in this much pain and keeps going back they need to do something for him. They've gone overboard.I bet it's easier for a junkie to get drugs in this country than a person who honestly does need the help and is not abusing. If they refuse to help him this time i'm done.I cannot sit up another night all night long while my husband does not get any sleep. i cannot take watching him rock back and forth nearly in tears because of pain.We do ice packs,hot baths, elevate legs.This goes on all night. Nothing works.
Tonight is the last straw.If they refuse to help him this time i am calling an attorney.
I'm going to stay up until he's back. BTW.They shut off our phone service(TWC)for 17.63 balance due.
Meantime I am anxious and worried about the tense stand off coming in EGYPT. I don't know why Obama doesn't behind the scenes convince the idiot to give up power and leave.For the good of his country.
The pundits here are going crazy.They either think there's going to be a utopia or there's going to be a Muslim Brotherhood takeover. If they had any clue what was going on in Egypt i would be amazed. The speculation and hysteria is here is out of control.My assesment? Maybe i'm naive but this is what i see so far.
It's a people's uprising.They've just had enough.
Ok.The Muslim Brother is waiting on the sidelines in the hope of taking advantage.They have their own agenda but i think the people of Egypt have enough information to get it.All they want is the dictator to take a hike and yes they were inspired by Tunasia.
They listened to Mubarak. He was supposed to have free and fair elections.When the man decided his son would take over...i think that was the last straw. Add to that the turn of events in Tunasia. Some pundits think this was all orchestrated by outside forces. I don't think so.You don't get millions of people to march on the streets for someone else's agenda. Some pundits are just panicked beyond belief by the Muslim Brotherhood.I would be cautious of them but i also give the Egyptian people more credit than to trade in one dictator for another.

Both are exactly right. This is the mistake people made in looking to Obama. When we elect a President we are only electing a man with all his flaws and vulnerabilies. Unless that man recognizes those in himself he will begin to believe that his government is the answer to your life.
He will become corrupt if he's not already. Obama has yet to learn what Pres Bush knew. You are serving an office. You give it your all and do the best you can do but you have limits.
Above all you get down on your knees because you don't control all situations.
I think too i heard the worst comment of all tonight from Glenn Beck;someone i usually agree with.Bush often said they(meaning terrorists)hate our freedom. Beck thinks not.Of course they do.
It goes against everything they dream of.Afterall terrorism is about power and control.I often hear this saying,
one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. You know how to tell the difference between the 2?
The goal of a freedom fighter is that when the fight is over EVERYONE is to be free;even people they disagree with.The goal of a terrorist is that when the fight is over nobody is to be free and they are to have absolute power. The goal of a freedom fighter and terrorist are different.I have never known a freedom fighter to deliberately take the life of innocent people and then take absolute power for themselves.Our own Revolution produced a limited government and a Constitution guaranteeing the protection of inalienable rights. Our founders acknowledged are rights are given to us by our CREATOR and not the state.
Maybe Glenn Beck is right this time(again)and i'm wrong. Glenn has been right about much. I don't think it's good to speculate re the outcome at this point but i do think we need to talk Mubarak into leaving.
We don't know the outcome.I doubt the Egyptian people know the outcome;but i do know Mubarak is holding onto power and thinks he'll survive.I think we need to tell him to listen to his people and leave.I know that for certain. To even think after all this time-and now that these protests have started- he's going to suddenly reform is just crazy.He had that chance.

Egypt’s Al Azhar University, the world’s leading center of Sunni Islamic thought, has suspended talks with the Vatican in protest over the “insulting remarks” by Pope Benedict XVI—a reference to the Pope’s statement that Egypt should protect Coptic Christians from mob violence.
The Pope’s protest against a massacre in Alexandria was “unacceptable interference” in Egypt’s affairs, a spokesman for Al Azhar said. At a January 20 meeting, the spokesman said, the scholars of Al Azhar decided to break off all talks with the Vatican “indefinitely.”
The Islamic leader said that his institution is “still waiting for an apology” from the Pontiff for his remarks about the massacre of Copts and for his comments on Islam in his Regensburg address of 2006. He added that in his January 1 message for the World Day of Peace, in which he condemned violence against Christians, the Pope should also have condemned violence against Muslims in Iraq.
The announcement from Cairo apparently caught Vatican officials by surprise. Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, said that the Vatican remained open to dialogue with any willing Islamic partners.
The rebuff from Al Azhar is a serious blow to hopes for Catholic-Muslim dialogue. The Egyptian institution had been one of the few Islamic centers willing to engage in discussions with the Holy See, joining with Vatican officials in annual talks that had produced joint statements condemning religious violence. Last year, upon the death of the head of Al Azhar, Sheik Mohammend Sayyed Tantawi, Pope Benedict remembered the deceased Islamic leader as "a valued partner in the dialogue between Muslims and Catholics."

People probably get the impression that my favorite topic is politics. Afterall, a number of the posts here involve political issues. It's true up to a point but only up to a point.What influences my political view is my Catholic faith.Period.End of story.If i'm going to vote for a candidate they must be pro life. I don't mean the double speak politicians who claim to be Catholic. I also don't mean people who give it lip service just to get elected. People who are honestly and consistently pro life.

I watch Beck every day at 5:00.Can't miss him.He's Mormon(was Catholic). Voted for George W Bush,an evangelical.Voted for Huckabee after McCain won the nomination as he was still on our ballot.Gov Huckabee is Baptist.When i need direction in life who do i listen to? Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict the XVI.The teaching authority of the Church. When i walk into the voting booth am Catholic. It's never,"well,i don't personally support abortion but it's ok if someone else does this." It's intrinsically evil as the Church teaches.
We are Catholic at all times. It's not a faith of convenience nor is it a democracy.
We must even be prepared to give our lives to be witnesses to our faith.
We don't split ourselves into what we do politically and where we worship on Sundays. It's called integrity.So i can talk politics all day long but the passion of my life is the faith.

The Feast of Epiphany also known as the Feast of the Theophany. This was traditionally celebrated on January 6th. In the dioceses of the United States this feast has been moved to the Sunday between January 2 and January 8. In the Ikon we see the 3 magi who have found Jesus and their gifts reveal truths about Him.What does this mean for us? We ask;have we discovered Jesus and what the truths about Him mean to each of us? Do we come with gratitude? If we didn't focus on the true meaning of Christmas on the 25th we now have a moment to reflect.We have gone through the joy as Mary and Joseph went through the joy of His birth.Now we can reflect on what that means to each of us.Perhaps it is time for silence?
To bow and to listen.
What will be revealed? What are the gifts we're going to bring to Jesus? What will they reveal? God cannot be outdone in generosity.There isn't a gift to compare to His giving us Jesus but we can rise to the occasion by giving the gift of love.Let us thank Mary too for her fiat.What do we learn from her example?

I still consider Gov Huckabee one of my top choices for a presidential candidate but there are so many good choices right now am going to wait and see.
By the middle of 2011 when i've finally decided will really get behind someone and make sure they get a donation.I know Gov Huckabee would have stood a better chance of winning if he would have had more funds the last time around.I do want to wait to decide.
Newt Gingrich,Rick Santorumm,Sarah Palin,Chris Christie and even Jeb Bush are other good choices. I would not support Romney because of his record as Gov in Massachusetts and his inconsistent record on the pro life issue.
All I do know is Obama better not win again. You would think the American people would not get fooled twice. We shall see.
It's too early to think about this but most of these folks will start a campaign in earnest next yesr.We'll watch the debates,see how they're doing.What stands they take,how they take them and their potential to beat Obama.

The 43rd and 44th American presidents are a study in contrasts, but the link between them is symbiotic, argues Toby Harnden. There could have been no Obama without Bush, and only Obama's stumbles could have made Bush look good again so quickly.

Say what you like about former President George W. Bush, but his sense of timing is impeccable. Just after his successor Barack Obama took a self-described "shellacking" at the polls, Dubya was back, mocking the current occupant of the White House by his very presence.

For the 43rd President, the return must have been sweet.

Obama was elected in large part because he was the unBush: biracial not bluebood; silky tongue, not foot-in-mouth; reflective not impetuous; cool rather than hot.

During the 2008 election campaign, Obama slammed Bush at every turn. Since then, the 44th President has almost ceaselessly blamed his predecessor for everything, even stooping to lambast Karl Rove, Bush's long-time aide, by name during the recent mid-terms campaign.

But the anti-Bush shtick soon wore thin. Two years after Obama was anointed, the halo around his head seemed distinctly tarnished. In his post-defeat interview with 60 Minutes, Obama was at his most listless and meandering, projecting all the certainty of a Hamlet on the Potomac.

Right on cue, Bush entered, stage Right, clutching a copy of his 497-page memoir Decision Points, a tome full of breezy certainty.

Did he order the waterboarding of terrorist suspects? "Damn right."

Did he ever have doubts about pre-war intelligence on Iraq? "I really didn't." Boring of Mr Nuance, Americans lapped it up.

Whereas Obama was glum, wondering aloud whether 9.6 per cent unemployment might be "the new normal" and griping that as US president "you're held responsible for everything but you don't always have control of everything", Bush used his interviews to display an almost giddy insouciance.

On the Oprah Winfrey Show, Bush charmed the woman who had proclaimed Obama as "the One" and hailed his "tongue dipped in unvarnished truth" in Iowa back in 2007.

"When it [the presidency] was over, I knew I'd given my heart and soul, I'd poured everything I had into the job and was grateful for the opportunity to serve," Bush said.

With his characteristic corny self-deprecation, Bush said he had enjoyed the writing process. "I know full well it's going to come as a shock to some people. A lot of people didn't think I could read, much less write." Boom boom.

Billy Hallowell: Why I (Still) Love George W. Bush
uck it up, haters. I love George W. Bush and I'm not afraid to admit it, nor am I hesitant to explain why. This piece is by no means an attempt to convince leftist adherents to abandon their false perceptions of America's 43rd president (that's a hapless task and I'm well beyond believing in my power to persuade people who base their stances on vapidity). Rather, I am penning this piece because I truly believe that a great disservice has been done to a man who gave his all to protect his nation -- a man who, despite what critics say, was and is highly intelligent, capable and intrinsically-tuned in to the nation's needs.

Unfortunately, there is a leftist mindset that contends that Bush is an unintelligent buffoon who meandered his way into the White House. Not only is this incredibly simplistic, but it flies in the face of rational thought. One cannot become president -- I repeat -- one cannot assume the highest post in the nation; if he or she is certifiably idiotic. It takes intelligence, charisma and a sharp mind to survive reporters, primaries, debates and other electoral mayhem. Winning over the American public is a wretchedly difficult task. George W. Bush accomplished all of this -- twice (or for those who still believe that Bush "stole" the 2000 election we can contend that he accomplished all of this at least once).

No one is perfect; presidents aren't immune to the fallible nature of the human spirit. Surely, President Bush made mistakes along the way. The mismanagement of the War on Terror. Increased government spending. The list goes on. There are certainly fair criticisms, as there would be for any leader. That in mind, many liberals fail to afford Bush the grace and gratitude he's due. This, in itself, is disturbing, disrespectful and vehemently vicious all wrapped into a detestable package of partisan rot. The man kept America safe for the majority of his tenure. Shouldn't that count for something?

While his national security record stands for itself (and I'll touch upon it later), perhaps the most attractive attribute our former president demonstrated was his stellar character. Now, before those on the left cardiac arrest at the audacity of my compliment, consider, as an anecdotal, the admirable decision Bush made in the wake of President Obama's historic victory. For the past 19 months, instead of responding to Obama and the Democrats' childish attacks and incessant blame for everything from financial meltdowns to the very destruction of the American ideal, Bush has remained quiet, composed and observant. Instead of criticizing the President, Bush has allowed Obama to govern as he see fits. Even the most ardent Bush-basher must admire the sheer class and composure that governed our former president's silence.

Sharply contrasting the unity Bush fostered in the days following 9/11 and the classy sentiment through which he approached his successor's presidency, Obama has exploited every opportunity to drive a partisan wedge into the heart of American electorate; he has continually blamed Bush and the Republicans for our nation's ills. Yet, everyone with one cent's worth of a brain knows that both parties have contributed to America's dramatic and grandiose sociopolitical ills. Obama's railing on against the Republicans has been reminiscent of a campaign stump speech stuck on repeat. It's unneeded and, frankly, it's un-presidential.

At the end of the day, George W. Bush possesses a level of class that is superior to both Clinton and Obama. Anyone who argues the contrary needs to remove the partisan blinders and learn some fair assessment skills. I'm not asking that you like the guy, but I am asking for you to give credit where it's due.

After Bush's stellar character comes his conviction. His belief in freedom colored his presidency and was often the focal point of his most contentious policy decisions. It was his conviction that led America (back) to the Middle East following 9/11. His tireless goal to democratize theocratic and radical regimes was rooted in a thirst for improved human rights and lasting peace and prosperity in a region that has been strewn with violence since the beginning of time. Feel free to agree or disagree with his decision to invade, then stay the course, but one fact is undeniable: George W. Bush protected domestic interests and American lives.

He refused to give up on the notion that America could and inevitably would make a difference in the Middle East. At worst, he was determined to finish the job he set out to complete in the first place. In the end, he kept his promise to Iraq, which is surely respectable. He's a man of his word (another reason I admire him). Oh, and for my liberal detractors: Bush never lied about WMD; Saddam Hussein did.

Here in America, it was Bush's conviction and determination that also made it possible for citizens to carry about their daily business without suffering any post-9/11 attacks at the hands of terrorist nutjobs. And for those Democrats and liberal elite who accused Bush and the Republicans of overstating the terror threat for political gain, I point you to the countless domestic plots we've seen since Bush left office. Terror was and continues to be a real threat. President Bush understood this and worked to his utmost to protect the public, while continuously refining the systems through which he accomplished the task.

Following Bush's character, conviction and determination comes his leadership style. While many on the left contend that Bush was a puppet whose strings were controlled by Cheney and Co., this is figment comprised of sheer inaccuracy. Bush was decisive and at the helm; his decisions were controversial. When Bush left office, his approval rating was abysmal. It was at that time that the American public had become weary. Despite a lack of support from the American people on the War on Terror, Iraq and other policy decisions, the president pushed forward in light of his principles and ideals.

While we can agree that there are certainly downsides to this sort of leadership style, there's also something admirable about it. When we elect officials, we place our utmost trust in them. A president must make tough decisions for the welfare and benefit of the people whom he represents. By these same standards, I must give President Obama credit for his tireless work. While I disagreed with the stimulus and the health care overhaul (as did the majority of the American public), I can respect the determination and goodwill through which he pushed those measures. Obama believed fully in both causes, as Bush did in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the War on Terror. In this regard, the presidents certainly share similarities in their leadership styles.

In the end, Bush was realistic in recognizing and reiterating the notion that radical Islamic fundamentalists hate America because of what she stands for. And let's not forget President's Bush's historic assistance in fighting global HIV/AIDS, his accomplishments in the chronic homelessness arena and his attempt to reform Social Security. These are a few specific accomplishments our former president deserves accolades for. But most of all, President Bush has always had a way with the American people. He's upfront, transparent and open. His recent media interviews reflect these sentiments and set him apart from other politicians. While I disagreed with some of his presidential actions and inactions, I can't help but love the guy. Plus, I've yet to hear compelling reasons why I shouldn't.

I checked on Pres Bush's new book Decision Points at the NY Times.
The comments people left were the usual.Nothing has changed.i don't think Pres Bush wrote this book to redeem his image.I think he wrote it(based on various interviews i've seen)to give an inside look at why and how he made the most important decisions he made. Whether you agreed with them or not.I don't think the book is to convince people they have to agree with the decisions.The nasty comments are just uncalled for.
Put up with them for years. I do not make any excuses for voting for him. I even make it clear i voted for him twice and would do it again.
No apologies either.
IF people want to make nasty comments that says more about them than it does about Pres. Bush.
I do understand that there were people who did not vote for him and would not vote for him.That's fine.We live where the citizens are free to vote. We have a 2 party system. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hundreds flock to Windsor to see weeping Virgin Mary statue

WINDSOR, Ont. — The holy pilgrimage to sin city has begun.
Hundreds of people from Windsor, across southern Ontario and the United States flocked to a normally quiet street Tuesday to see a statue of the Virgin Mary that supposedly weeps tears of healing oil.
A spiritual healer from Manitoba was also gathering a contingent of believers from his province and Saskatchewan to make the journey.
For some faithful in Windsor — known to many Americans as Sin City North — it’s about time.
“Look at our city,” said Chris Gillen. “Windsor is classified as ‘sin city’. This is a positive thing happening in this city. I’m surprised it’s taken this long. You’re getting people out, they’re praying. The city is in desperate need of prayer, desperate need of people getting back to church.”
The statue — believed to have come from Los Angeles — is encased in an addition to the front of a Garvey Crescent home owned by Fadia Ibrahim. She said she began receiving messages from the Virgin Mary about two years ago. After news of her supposed communication with the Madonna spread in the Catholic community, supporters in Detroit donated the statue, as well as money to build the enclosure.
Catholics have been gathering for the last three months at the foot of the statue which, according to Ibrahim, smiles during the day and weeps tears of oil at night. Ibrahim also claims to secrete the oil from her hands. Believers even show up at the house with Ziploc bags full of cotton balls and makeup remover so they can collect the oil, take it home and bless their homes and other people.
But word really started to spread about the statue this week after neighbours — ticked off about the constant stream of worshippers and their vehicles along the normally quiet street — complained to city hall. The city issued an order to remove the statue by Nov. 19, citing building code violations and lack of a building permit.
Ibrahim had collected several hundred signatures on a petition to save the statue by Tuesday afternoon, along with a donation box stuffed full of money. People streamed through the yard dozens at a time to the sounds of car horns and Hail Marys.
Despite all the hoopla, city solicitor George Wilkki said it’s actually a pretty easy fix.
He said there are two issues affecting the statue. First, the structure isn’t in compliance with the zoning bylaw because it encroaches onto the required front yard. There must be a six-metre setback from the property line. Second, the owner never got a building permit and inspection to make sure it complies with the building code.
Wilkki said the solution to the first problem is to apply for a “minor variance for relief” from the zoning bylaw. The second problem can be fixed by applying for a building permit and getting an inspection.
“It’s not a huge situation,” he said. “It’s done all the time.”
The excitement has also caught the attention of the London diocese, which is far from calling it a miracle. Spokesman Mark Adkinson said this is the first time the diocese has had reports of a weeping statue.
“We’ll proceed cautiously and if it does need to be investigated we’ll take those steps,” said Adkinson. “But it’s not something we would take lightly or make any rush decisions on.”
Leonard Daniels, a spiritual healer from Pukatawagan, Man., said Jesus told his daughter about the Windsor statue in a vision. His wife also heard about it on the radio.
“I am gonna go there and see that statue,” said Daniels. “I’m a firm believer of these miracles that happen. I’m going to go sit there and pray.”
He’s also gathering others to come with him.
“This is something that people gotta know in Manitoba,” said Daniels. “This is what I have been teaching and talking about wherever I go. As soon I get this story going through in Manitoba, people are going to be calling and they are going to be going that way like you wouldn’t believe.”
He said he gets his faith from his daughter, Verena Marie-Adele Daniels, 12, who is also a spiritual healer. On July 18, 2007, he said Jesus began regularly visiting the young girl.
“She said ‘I saw Jesus, daddy. He made me sit on my bed and he was talking to me. I saw Jesus.’ “
Among Jesus’s messages to the girl was, “I am coming soon,” Daniels said.
“That’s the reason I firmly believe that this type of a phenomenon from the creator is something that people must see and try to believe,” Daniels said of the Windsor statue. “I believe in these phenomena that happen. I asked if they are true and, of course, they are true.”

As someone who's worked every day on Christine's campaign since March 4, I have a deep personal and political interest in Ms. O'Donnell's winning on Nov. 2.

Given that Gov. Pete DuPont endorsed Mike Castle at the GOP State Convention -- my young friends Diane Hernandez and Jason C. O'Neill nominated Christine -- the following piece is absolutely remarkable. It will not earn Gov. DuPont any friends among his neighbors in the mansions of lush, upscale Greenville, north of Wilmington. But the WSJ piece is a definite exercise in courage. It's also a game-changer for a campaign, my friend Christine's, that needed a game-changer.

Editor's Note - There's some history here that some Newbies to the libertarian movement may be unaware of. Long before there was a Republican Liberty Caucus, back in 1987, there was a small movement of "Libertarians for Pete DuPont." DuPont was running for President. I was part of this effort, if not it's most active driving force.

DuPont put out very libertarian papers on privatization of Social Security and other governmental services. He even had Cato Institute associates working as policy analysists on his campaign. The term "libertarian" was used on occasion in the national media to describe his views way back in 1987. It follows that he would now endorse libertarian/conservative Christine O'Donnell.

My husband and i received our absentee ballots yesterday.We filled them out and they are now in our mail box ready to head to the elections board.
We voted straight Republican and like the choices we had.
Our goal is to stop Obama. We also had a good group of people to choose from.That makes it easy.I am thrilled.I just hope everyone votes and they send Washington a very clear message.I have never been so thrilled to vote as i was this time.
While the government has been forcing us to accept policies we don't want it is our turn to tell them our will.

Tribute To Mom

I really missed mom today. She wasn't perfect but she truly had many good qualities.
I was horribly ungrateful for all the wonderful things this woman did.All the dreams she might have had that were not fulfilled-and the many that were.
I did not appreciate enough what she did and for all that she suffered.
I do wish i could go back to that one Monday night before she passed on Tues morning.
I would stop in to see her that night. What a fool i was then.
What could i do for mom now that would make her the happiest if she were still here?

As a mom she would want us to have a decent home and live within our budget too.That was mom.Live within your means.
Next she would want me to make good use of all the skills and talents God gave me few as they are. That was definitely mom. Whatever God gave you make use of it.
She would definitely want me to remain a devout Catholic and i know above all else she wants me to get to heaven.
The decent place she would hope for us is slipping through our fingers.She would like the home we are renting but it's not really within our budget. Buying a home here is less than renting a home here.
We are looking at real estate in our town and have some up for consideration but at this point i don't think we are going to get the financing we need. I've already been turned down at ing direct.
I don't see much hope.i am going to try some other lending companies but if the next one also turns us down or maybe the next 2 then i will have to give it up.
We will stay here till next summer and then HOPE we can find a first floor apartment that is comparable but cheaper.
i don't see that happening either.We have a few landlords in our town and they own nearly all that is rented out among them.They are generally dumps and they are generally priced higher than they are worth.
We have no interest in going back to one of these landlords but their probably isn't any choice.i think mom would be very disappointed by this situation.There is a lot of real estate up for sale here but who's going to lend to people?
I know mom-she would be so supportive. i don't know that mom would approve of the budget we have at this point but if the folks were still alive we wouldn't be here anyway.We would still be living right across the street from them.
Miss my folks...i wish i could write a better tribute to them.
Will try again another night.Am tired.Have a miserable head cold too.Onto the 2 best subjects in the world tomorrow,politics and religion.

We wouldn't know it but liberalism is dead.
We know the media is liberal.We know much of our education system is liberal.
We know that the culture is liberal.So how can i say liberalism is dead?
It's devoid of real ideas,honest discussion and truth.
The problem is that they(liberal elites)run things.The bigger problem is that we don't realize(yet)that there are more of us than there are of them and when we begin to demand and expect integrity and honesty we will get it.We have let liberalism control the debate and the language of the debate. They win because they think they win,but they have actually lost.
The game plan to tip the scales;
1.they skew the news. When the news isn't honest call them on it.
2.Demand good tv programs. Let's not feed ourselves on junk anymore.
Set high standards.Demand this. They've put the bar down to the lowest common denominator. Sleaze rules. There were good wholesome shows at one time. We get what we ask for.Why do we settle for trash?
3. Check the facts before electing people to office then hold their feet to the fire.
LET'S DEMAND TERM LIMITS! This is long overdue.Let's not talk about it this time.Let's insist on a commitment.
Liberalism is dead but the people who defend it just don't know it.

I would be as willing to support her as Gov Huckabee.They're both good people.
However,for now we need to focus on the 2010 elections.We MUST put the brakes on Obama. We cannot afford to have this man take any more power than he already has.
We must not let him take the country down the road of ruin it's on.The OOP would be far better than having him have his way for another 3 yrs.

He's lied. He's corrupt.The DOJ has become corrupted by him. He actually needs impeached.
He's not above the law.
Regardless,we have to fight to make sure the Dems don't keep control of Congress.
I have nothing against Democrats...i do have plenty against Obama and plenty against progressive(Socialists).The Dem party has been co-opted by these people. We don't even know if Gov Huckabee will be running.Frankly,so far the one person i've considered the most strongly as a candidate is Sarah Palin.She would have to run a top notch campaign to beat Obama.The press and media will tear her to shreds.
I digress though.We need to get through this years elections before we even consider a a candidate for 2012. I'm only suggesting we put Gov Palin at the top of the list for now and see how things turn out in 2012.
We must clean house on Congress first and we have to keep the momentum until Nov.
I still think very highly of Gov Huckabee and i'm not taking him off the short list of possibilities.
There are a lot of good people out there.If Rick Santorum ran i would put him at the top of the list.When you have a lot of good people like this it's hard to choose and you can't pick all of them.
I remember back when we were trying to convince McCain to pick Huckabee as his VP candidate and had no idea he was going to pick the Gov of Alaska.It was so crushing to find out he didn't get it...but Sarah was a pleasant surprise.
I haven't been here in so long that much happened. My mother passed away and we ended up moving.I am writing a blog to talk specifically about the loss of my mom so i'm not going to mention it here except in passing. We are still setting up since we moved.As it goes you always have those unpacked boxes you just don't feel like getting to. My husband's sister is going to be coming here to live with us also.
I am nervous and hopefully will have everything set up before she gets here.
I am also nervous as we have never had anyone live with us since we first married.
i don't know that this won't be a strain on us-the lack of privacy.
She is a very nice lady and she's not difficult to get along but i also am being realistic. Any change is bound to have it's pluses and minuses.
I'm sure she'll respect our privacy and that will help immensely.
Anyway,that's where we are.
I've been very active on various sites and have noticed i joined so many that it's hard to keep up with all of them.
This includes various sites i've set up.I wish i had someone who was willing to take over as administrator and put a lot of effort into it.
I'd like to narrow things down but never get to it.
I didn't have a lot of time to spend on anything when mom and dad were ill.They were wonderful people and there isn't a single day that they're not in my thoughts and prayers. It would have been dad's birthday this month too.
Always close to Easter.

I just haven't been here.Mom passed away last year after a short illness and a long battle with cancer. I was devastated and it's only through faith that i get by each day.It has become so difficult. This is life. It is painful and the best i can do is offer it up.Even that is not easy.
I've also been to Gretawire putting my .02 worth in about the HC Bill and Obama.
As well as our Catholic forum and a few Social Networks.Some i just started. Our forum also has a website now.

We are going to have to watch the 2010 elections.This is critical for a balance of power which we don't have now.

We just observed Good Friday. The passion and death of Our Lord. Everyone likes Easter Sunday but to get there we must pass through Good Friday. The Glory and Triumph of the Resurrection is after the suffering and pain of the Crucifixion.
It reminds us of the great question;if there is a good and loving God where is there evil an
and suffering?We know God permits evil and suffering. We know that God did not create death,suffering,evil and sin.

God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living. For he fashioned all things that they might have being; and the creatures of the world are wholesome. And there is not a destructive drug among them nor any domain of the nether world on earth, for justice is undying. For God formed man to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made him. But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world(,Book Of Wisdom)

We can offer up our sufferings with Christ.Our offered up suffering becomes redemptive.
God permits evil and can bring a greater good out of it.
Proof?

The greatest evil? DEICIDE.Creature killing creator.
The greatest good? REDEMPTION.Victory over sin and death.
God created us for love and life. That God created at all is because God IS love and life.
The Trinity is Love and Life.
Spring is a reminder to us that while sin and darkness are of the world;God's love triumphs.
Satan knows from his own fall that it is pride that can bring down man.
Satan's goal for us? DEATH.
He says this will make you feel good, this will give you pleasure,this will make your life very pleasant, this will give you everything you desire-and the end result will be death.Both in this life and for eternity.
Everything that sin offers leads to death and Satan makes sure we don't see it.
Abortion,contraception, fornication,drunkeness,drugs, adultery,pornography,euthanasia,despair that leads to suicide,

DEATH.
Everything about Jesus is LIFE.Jesus IS Life.
Jesus appeals to our humility,asks us to be like Him(humble),He makes sense of our suffering and gives us life.
Both in this world and the next.
Scripture says this simply.
Jesus is the way,the truth and THE LIFE.
God created man(male and female)in His image and likeness;they can create life and that life comes out of an act of love.Like God.
Even a priest or religious who choose celibacy have spiritual children because of their act of love for the sake of the Kingdom.
If Jesus had not risen from the dead the cross would be an ending. It is the pivotal and central event in Christianity.Spring shows us that after the dark and cold winter everything blooms with life.
